The main drawback is that you'll need to charge the VTech parent unit every day because its battery lasts a measly 2.5 hours. The screen is also incredibly small at just 2.4 inches diagonal, so it can be hard to see what your baby's doing.
It's also important to note that this isn't a pan-and-tilt camera, so it may not work for a cot-climber.
